As fellow Associate Editor Liz Kruesi and I approach our 20th episode of Liz and Bill's Cosmic Adventures, we feel like it’s a great occasion for a new title sequence. By the time it airs, we’ll have been using the same music and goofy walking sequence for nearly two years! (Wow, that suddenly made us feel old.)So, to help us keep up that youthful, fresh appearance, we’re asking for the help of musically inclined viewers. Have you always wanted to create your favorite program’s jingle? Does deep space thrill and mystify you while inspiring new music to flow from your fingertips? Do you like working for free? Well then, have we got an offer for you! We’re looking for original music for our intro sequence and would love to hear your ideas! We’ll only probably use about 10–15 seconds’ worth of your masterpiece in our standard intro, but would be happy to highlight an “extended version” if you write a normal-length track. As we mentioned, we can’t pay you for this, but your name will always appear prominently in the credits, and you’ll have our undying gratitude. Plus, there’s always a chance that we’ll feature a musical episode in the future and be looking for musical help then, so why not get on our radar early? Please send your ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject “Title theme.” We’ll need them before October, in MP3 format. Also, make sure to include your name as you would like it to appear. And remember, it’s a family show, so let’s keep everything PG-rated. We’ll let you know if we pick your composition, but everyone else should just stay tuned for the 20th episode in November!Beyond that, the sky’s the limit! We’d love to hear your submissions, within any genre, using any instrumentation, with or without lyrics. And if we don’t hear from anyone (or nothing fits), we’ll just pick something ourselves from the royalty-free store. Thanks, and we hope to hear from you!
Two words, BRIAN MAY!!! You had to know that was coming.
