The 2009 Midwest Astro-Imaging Conference will be held June 26 and 27 at the Northern Illinois University Hoffman Estates Meeting Center in Dekalb, Illinois. This is the third incarnation of this annual meeting.

The 2009 conference will include expert speakers covering the latest in CCD and digital SLR imaging along with image-acquisition and processing techniques. Many vendors will showcase new products through exhibits and displays. And a host of great door prizes await participants.

Conference speakers include Richard Berry, former editor of Astronomy magazine. Berry, a renowned astrophotographer and author, will discuss his new Magnitude Measurement Tool.

Warren Keller, one of Astronomy’s contributing astroimagers, will share the “Five S's” that are a normal part of his Photoshop image-processing workflow: Stretch, Sharpen, Saturate, Smooth, and Select.

Robert Reeves, author of numerous astrophotography books and several articles for Astronomy, will present a “getting started and focusing” session for new astrophotographers. Well-known solar system imager Alan Friedman also will share some of his imaging and image-processing tricks and techniques.
