Arp 23

Arp 23 (UGC 7853, PGC 42575, VV 73 and others), at the bottom center, is located approximately 22 million light-years away in Canes Venatici. Part of Arps ‘Spiral Galaxies – One-Armed’ class, this one appears to be interacting with the galaxy above.

NGC 4625 (IC 3675, UGC 7861, PGC 42607 and others) is the one-armed spiral above Arp 23. It is located approximately 26 million light-years away.

Luminance – 42x600s – 420 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 14:11:12x300s – 70:55:60 minutes each – binned 2x2

605 minutes total exposure – 10 hours 5 minutes

Imaged May 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th, 2022 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
