The Elephant's Trunk

The Elephant's Trunk Nebula is 2400 ly away from earth, and it is formed by a concentration of dust and gas which is integrated in a much larger ionized gas region of IC1396. The image was taken in a Bortle Class 4 area close to Frankfurt, Germany.
I used a modified 8" (f/5) Skywatcher Newtonian to capture this picture with only 4.4h total exposure time, 1h RGB and 3.4h Dual narrowband (Ha/OIII) data.
