LDN 1257 is part of a complex of dark nebulas in constellation Cassiopeia. Its opacity ist 5/6, which means it is a quite dense dark nebula.
Down on the left there is LDN 1258, its opacity is noted with 2/6. Also, there is some HII visible in the background.
