NGC 1977 is part of the huge nebula complex in Orion. It is a mixture of a blue reflection nebula and a glowing HII region. The reddish dusty region at the bottom of the photo is part of the M42/M43 nebula complex. The image was captured with a 12.5" PlaneWave telescope and a QSI-640ws working at f/5.2 from a dark-sky site near Anza, CA. Total LRGB integration time was 10.7 hours.
