The Whirlpool Galaxy (M51) under a light-polluted urban sky

My place is very challenging for deep sky imaging and is a better match for planetary imaging. I have to use a great deal of anti pollution filter and processing... but I got some good results there.

San Bruno CA, near the SFO airport (high degree of light pollution!)

Celestron SCT 9.25" on Orion Atlas  - taken at prime focus with a QHY8 Color Camera cooled down at -40C

6 exp. of 360sec and 17 exp of 240sec
