M78, a reflection nebula in Orion

This image is of a Nebula that is about 1600 light years away. The image is made up of 10 minute exposures. Image sequence was 19 Luminance, 15 Red, 11 Green, 8 Blue and 4 H Alpha for a total exposure of 9.5 hours. M78 is part of the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex. It was discovered in 1780 by Pierre Mechain and included in Charles Messier's comet like catalog that same year.
