Arp 58

Arp 58, part of the ‘Spiral Galaxies with Small, High Surface Brightness Companions on Arms,’ consists of:

UGC 4457 (PGC 23935, VV 413 and others), the spiral with loose arms

PGC 23937 (2MASS J08320053+1912058 and others), the small companion on south of UGC 4457

These are located in Cancer a couple of degrees from M44.

There are a couple more interesting galaxies:

PGC 4571629 (SDSS J083129.83+191455.2) – a mag 18.6 (g) galaxy to the right (west) of UGC 4475

PGC 4168240 (WISEA J083131.00+192042.3) – a mag 17.5 (g) (flat?) galaxy near the top of the frame above PGC 4571629

Luminance – 24x600s – 240 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

360 minutes total exposure – 6 hours

Imaged February 15th and 16th and March 12th, 2023 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
