NGC 2359 is an emission nebula in the neighborhood of Canis Major and is about 12,000 light years away. This photo was taken in February 2023 in the Mojave Desert Preserve which is an excellent dark sky site (when the sand isn't blowing). This photo is a stack of 55 shots of 5 minutes each. I used an 8" carbon fiber Newtonian scope and a bunch of other fancy doodads connected to a laptop.
