M87 Field

M87 (Arp 152, NGC 4486, UGC 7654 and another 113 designations in Simbad) is a large elliptical galaxy located approximately 53.9 million light-years away in Virgo.

This field includes many other galaxies including:

Abell 1552 – a cluster with at least 75 galaxies. This one is located just below center.

Arp 175 at the bottom left.

Luminance – 18x600s – 180 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 10x300s – 50 minutes each – binned 2x2

330 minutes total exposure – 5 hours 30 minutes

Imaged on February 17th, 2023 at the Danville Conservation Area (New Florence, Missouri) with a SBIG ST-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT90EDT at f/6.7 603mm.
