Arp 316 consists of the three galaxies at the top of the image from left to right:
NGC 3193 (UGC 5562, PGC 30099 and others) is an elliptical located approximately 109 million light-years away.
NGC 3189 (UGC 5559, PGC 30083, VV 307a and others), the spiral with the prominent dust lane. This one is located approximately 79 million light-years away.
NGC 3187 (UGC 5556, PGC 30068, VV 307b and others), the odd spiral located approximately 115 million light-years away.
Hickson 44 consists of the galaxies above and NGC 3185 (UGC 5554, PGC 30059 and others), the spiral located approximately 79 million light-years away at the bottom right.
All of these are located in Leo.
Luminance – 30x600s – 300 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 10x300s – 50 minutes each – binned 2x2
450 minutes total exposure – 7 hours 30 minutes
Imaged April 8th and 9th, 2021 and February 26th and March 1st, 2022 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
