NGC 1999 (LBN 979, DG 60, Ced 55i and others) is the reflection nebula at the center of the image. This object is located just below the Orion Nebula.

Imaged over six nights in November and December, 2021 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
