NGC 2516

NGC 2516 (Caldwell 96 and others), also known as the Southern Beehive for the resemblance to M44, is an open cluster located approximately 1,217 light-years away in Carina.

Luminance – 2x600s – 20 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 2x600s – 20 minutes each – binned 1x1

80 minutes total exposure – 1 hour 20 minutes

Imaged on December 24th, 2021 at the El Sauce Observatory (Rio Hurtado, Chile) with a FLI PL 16803 on an ASA 500N at f/3.8 1900mm.
