Arp 126

Arp 126 (VV 122) consists of UGC 1449 (PGC 7417, VV 122b and others) the irregular spiral above the even more irregular MCG+00-06-010 (PGC 7415, VV 122a and others). Part of Arp’s ‘Elliptical and Elliptical-like Galaxies: close to and perturbing spirals’ class, these appear to be located approximately 236 million light-years away in Pisces.

Luminance – 24x600s – 240 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

360 minutes total exposure – 6 hours

Imaged December 6th, 23rd, 28th and 29th, 2021 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
