Arp 92 in Pisces consists of NGC 7306 (PGC 71035, UGC 12493, VV 1975 and others), the spiral left of center and PGC 71041 (NGC 7396B and others), the elliptical companion. Part of Arp’s, ‘Spiral Galaxies – Companions on Arms – E Galaxy Companions’, these two might just close front our vantage point. NGC 7306 appears to be about 413 million light-years away but the companion appears to be over 700 million. These two look like M51.
NGC 7589 (PGC 70995, MCG+00-59-019 and others) is the spiral to the right of center. It is located approximately 403 million light-years away.
Luminance – 24x600s – 240 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2
360 minutes total exposure – 6 hours
Imaged October 30th and 31st and November 1st and 3rd, 2021 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
