A Colourful Story

on Tuesday, January 18, 2022
The image presents a comparison between a "black and white" and a "colourful" moon. Moon, as we see it, with our naked eyes, appears to be in grayscale like the one on the right side. However, moon's surface is rich in mineral which has their own colours. The colours are subtle but can be enhanced, as in the one on the left side, also known as the "Mineral Moon". Note that the colours are not added but only enhanced to show the different mineral compositions on the lunar surface.

The moon presented here is the first full moon of 2022, also known as "Wolf Moon". The moons are a stack of 350 images.
