Sharpless 238 (Ced 32a, vdB 28, Burnham's Nebula and others) is the brightest of the brown nebula near the center of the image. Some references also include the objects further out including NGC 1554, Ced 32, DG 31, LBN 871 and Struve's nebula among others. Sh2-238 is estimated to be approximately 479 light-years away in Taurus.
