NGC 2264 lies in the constellation of Monocerus. It is relatively unique in that this designation refers to both the Christmas Tree Cluster and Cone Nebula. Also visible in this image is the Fox Fur Nebula (Sh2-273), just above S-Monocerotis, the bright star at center frame.

This image is a hybrid take with a Pentax 75EDHF refractor. 30 exposures of 7.5 min. were taken using an ST-8300 camera with Astronomik 12nm Ha filter and 24 exposures of 5 min. were captured with a modified Canon 650D (ISO 1600). The composite was constructed and adjusted in Photoshop.
