M77 (Arp 37, NGC 1068, UGC 2188, Cetus A and many others) is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 47 million light-years away in Cetus. Arp classified this one as Spiral Galaxies – Companions on Arms – Low Surface Brightness Companions. Your guess is as good as mine.

NGC 1055 (UGC 2173, PGC 10208 and many others) at the top center is another Arp-like galaxy with a very prominent dark dust lane. This one is a member of the M77 galaxy group.

Luminance – 12x600s – 120 minutes – binned 1x1
