Arp 209 (NGC 6052, NGC 6064, UGC 10182, VV 86 and others) is an irregular galaxy of clumps located approximately 231 million light-years away in Hercules. A couple of the clumps have designations – NGC 6052A (VV 86a) and NGC 6052B (VV 86b). Arp has this one in his ‘Irregularities, absorption and resolution’ class.
Luminance – 24x600s – 240 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2
360 minutes total exposure – 6 hours
Imaged over seven nights in May, 2018 and March 2019 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
