Arp 46

Arp 46 consists of UGC 12665 (PGC 71748, VV 314/VV314a and others), the distorted spiral to the right (west) of center and VV 314b, the companion above it. These are part of Arp’s Spiral Galaxies – Companions on Arms – Low Surface Brightness Companions class.

UGC 12667 (PGC 71753 and others) is the spiral at the center of the image.

Luminance – 24x600s – 240 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

360 minutes total exposure – 6 hours

Imaged October 4th and 5th, 2018 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
