NGC 6888 (Sharpless 105, Caldwell 27, LBN 203 and others) is an emission nebula located approximately 5,000 light years away in Cygnus. The nebula is formed from winds given off of the Wolf-Rayet star (WR 136 or HD 192163) at the center.
Ha – 18x1800s – 540 minutes – binned 1x1
OIII – 18x1800s – 540 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2
1200 minutes total exposure – 20 hours
Imaged over 11 nights in May, June, July and August, 2016 at Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
