JUPITER AND ITS MOON EUROPE. STUDY WITH METHANE

Image realized with methane filter, we show the levels of sunlight being absorbed by the methane next to the atmosphere of Jupiter. Note also the presence of the moon Europe, highlighted by methane (visible in this photo only with the filter).

The clearest areas are higher in altitude, containing little or no methane, besides the European moon. While the darker regions are rich in methane, it strongly absorbs sunlight at that wavelength becoming darker.
