M107 is one of the more interesting Messier globulars, but it doesn't get much attention. When first seen, it appears as a tight open cluster, because it has no apparent core. However, after prolonged observation, using higher magnification, it can be seen that there are black dust clouds in front of and possibly within the cluster.
