I really thought the Montes Apenninus (Apenninus Mountains) on the moon looked stunning on the night of November 7, 2016. The moon was 52% illuminated really making the mountain pop. This mountain range is about 370 miles long with some of the peaks rising as high as 3.1 miles. The largest crater sitting to the northwest is called Archimedes.
