Jupiter 2016-03-17

This was my only somewhat decent shot of Jupiter I was able to obtain during the 2016 opposition, due to perpetual mediocre seeing conditions in Portland, OR. The image does show the Great Red Spot and turbulent eddies caused by it in the South Equatorial Belt and numerous festoons.

Technical Details:

Telescope/Mount: Celestron Compustar C14 with Tele Vue 2x Powermate Barlow (f/22).
Camera: Point Grey Flea3 Color at 60 fps, best 500 frames out of 2500
Location: Pommier Observatory, Portland, OR, USA
