M63 (NGC 5055, UGC 8334, the Sunflower Galaxy and others) is a spiral galaxy located approximately 37 million light-years away in Canes Venatici. It is a member of the M51 Group of galaxies.
Luminance – 18x600s – 180 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2
300 minutes total exposure – 5 hours
Imaged from Dardenne Prairie, Missouri (a red zone) on January 17th and February 12th, 2016 with a SBIG ST-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT90DT at f/6.7 603mm.
