Sharpless 2-302

Sharpless 302 (LBN 1046, RCW 7 and Gum 6) is a small nebula located approximately 5,800 light-years away in Puppis. The small grouping of stars just above is open cluster NGC 2409.

Luminance – 12x600s – 120 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

240 minutes total exposure – 4 hours

Imaged February 4th and 5th, 2016 from Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG ST-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT90EDT at f/6.7 603mm.
