Eta Carinae Nebula, or NGC 3372. imaged 13-15 January from Hacienda Los Andes in northern Chile, with a Takahashi FSQ-85 scope and QSI 583 wsg camera, on a Mach 1 mount and Eagle pier provided by the Hacienda. 6.4 hours of exposure. Seeing FWHM 1.1-1.3 arc-seconds.

The namesake star at the center is one of the most massive and luminous in the Milky Way, 90 times the mass and 5 million times the luminosity of the Sun. It's a prime candidate for a future supernova.
