NGC 281, commonly known as the Pacman Nebula is located in Cassiopeia. It is an emission nebula interspersed with dark clouds and nodules of dust where star formation is taking place. Its about 10,000 light years distant.
This image was taken through a five inch refractor at prime focus - f/7 with a Canon EOS 60Da camera. Fifty subs at three minutes each with twenty darks stacked in Deepskystacker and processed in Photoshop. No flats or bias frames. A light pollution imaging filter was used as the image was taken in a red zone light polluted area.
