This is an image of M82, the famous "cigar galaxy" with the massive stellar winds flowing from its core (red material). Supernova SN2014J is the yellowish star embedded in the disk at the 11:00 position relative to the M82 core. The image was taken with a 12.5" PlaneWave telescope and a QSI-640ws camera working at f/8 from a dark-sky site near Anza, CA. Because of weather, the total LRGB integration time was only 7 hours.
