This is NGC 1977, the "Running Man" nebula in Orion, a combination reflection nebula and HII region. The bright blue reflection nebula is illuminated by some of the youngest stars in our galaxy. The image was taken with a 12.5" PlaneWave CDK telescope and a Quantum Scientific QS640ws camera at f/5.2. It was shot from a dark-sky location near Anza, CA using L,R,G,B filters for a total integration time of 10.7 hours.
