Farmakopoulos Antonis
NGC 6559 is a star forming region located at a distance of about 5000 light-years from Earth, in the constellation of Sagittarius, showing both emission (red) and reflection (bluish) regions.. NGC 6559, IC 1274-4685, B103-91 is located just one degree east of M8 (the Lagoon Nebula) and is probably part of the same large nebulous complex and star forming region NGC 6559 is the brightest patch of emission nebulosity.
