IC 405 and IC 410, commonly known as the Flaming Star and Tadpole Nebulae, respectively; are the two prominent objects in the above image. Although they appear to share the same cloud of nebulosity, IC 405 at top right lies about 1500 light years from Earth while IC 410 at lower left is more than seven times further from Earth at an approximate distance of 12,000 light years. At the upper left edge of the image, we get a glimpse of the smaller emission nebula IC 417 which is located at about the same distance from Earth as IC 410.
