This photo was taken from the cruise ship Dawn Princess north of Port Douglas Australia on Nov 14, 2012, with a Nikon D800 camera at the prime focus of a Celestron 5 inch SCT. The relatively short 1/320th of a second shows several solar prominences. Note how the corona arcs around the prominence at top right, also note the jagged edge of the silhouette of the moon.
