Looking at the edge of Venus toward the solar limb, the distorted shape known as the teardrop effect can be seen due to scattering of light in the planet's atmosphere. One thousand frames were taken at 30 frames per second using a Philips SPC 900 webcam at prime focus on a Celestron C8 telescope. The frames were stacked using Registax 5.
