Saturday morning, 12/10/2011, at approx. 0445 PST, I started
photographing the last total lunar eclipse until 2014! The temperature up here
in Paso Robles Ca. was a chilly 29 degrees but for the most part, the skies
were clear with very little atmospheric interference. I used my Canon EOS
Digital Rebel XS (actually my daughters camera) attached to a Celestron 8 inch
Schmidt Cassagrain telescope at F 10. I started shooting at ASA (ISO) 1600 and
a shutter speed that ranged from 1/30 sec to finally ending in totality with 1
to 4 second exposures. In image # 121, you can see the star Iota Tauri next to
the Moon. Overall, things went well. I took over 160 images but luckily for all
of you, I'm only sending out a few...
