The Lagoon and Trifid Nebulae (M8 + M20)

This image also includes several Sharpless Catalog objects including Sh2-29, Sh2-31, and Sh2-32.

Taken from my backyard Xanadu Observatory in Tucson, AZ.

Equipment used: Takahashi Epsilon 180ED on an Astro-Physics AP1200 mount. SBIG STL-11000M camera with AstroDon filters. Acquisition software included MaximDL, TheSky, and CCDCommander. Processing software included CCDStack and Photoshop. Hydrogen-alpha data was used to enhance the nebulosity by mixing it with the red (78%) and blue (18%) channels.

Exposure times: H-alpha 18x600s, Red 46x300s, Green 37x300s, Blue 48x300s
