On the morning of July 23rd, at 4:00 AM local time in Montreal, I decided to have a look at the sky from my backyard. According to Stellarium software a crescent moon and Jupiter would be almost side by side. The last time I turned my scope to Jupiter was in November.
They were there at the rendez-vous, both celestial beauties...
Not willing to get all my photography stuff out and set before dawn, I decided to take some time and sketch the view from 4:00 to close to 5:00. It gave me a very rewarding observation time. Jupiter with its Galilean moons forming a nice figure was magnificent as usual.
The details are on the sketch.
Acid-free Canson paper, HB and 2B pencils and blending stump. Gimp 2 and Photoshop CS3.
