This image was created by "stitching" 16 individual images together to create a mosaic of the outer edge of the Sun showing the prominences. Then 20 individual images were "stitched" together to create a mosaic of the surface of the Sun. We then combined the two mosaics together to form the composite. All of the data for this project was captured on June 29, 2011. It took 26 minutes to capture but took us 27 days to process it all to completion....whew!!!
