The Lagoon Nebula (M8) in Sagittarius

The Lagoon Nebula , Messier 8 (NGC 6523) is one of the finest star-forming regions of the sky.  It is a giant glowing cloud of interstellar gas, divided by a dark dust lane, containing a cluster of young stars. This "snapshot" is an HaRGB image. Ha:1-15minute exposure, RGB: 1 each of 7 minutes.
