The Hercules Cluster (M13)

This is the Great Globular Cluster in Hercules. It is about 25,000 light years away with a diameter of about 84 light years.

Date: April 5, 2011

Location: Rancho Hidalgo, NM

Telescope: TEC-140 (F7)

Camera: SBIG ST-8300M

Mount: AP900 FTO

Luminance: 10x3 minutes

Red: 6x5 minutes (unbinned)

Green: 6x5 minutes (unbinned)

Blue: 6x5 minutes (unbinned)
