Also called "The Seven Sisters" and, in Japan, "Suburu", M45 is easily visible with the naked eye. However, in order to show details of the reflection nebulosity, long exposures must be made (but these must be combined with short exposures so the main stars are not 'bloated'). This image includes 6.7 hours of RGB data (from which synthetic luminance was created) with various exposures ranging from 30 seconds to 10 minutes. It was taken through an FSQ-106EDX with an STL-11000M camera at Sierra Skies Observatory in November 2010.
