Partial Solar Eclipse, January 4, 2011

It was overcast in Moscow in the morning of the January 4th. It seemed to us that there was no chance to observe the first solar eclipse of the year 2011. But at the time of the maximum phase (0.81) clouds became thinner and the crescent sun appeared in a strong haze.

Telescope: William Optics Megrez 72. Solar filter: Coronado 40. Camera: Point Grey Grasshopper GRAS-14S3M. Mount: AstroTrac.

Processing: Average of 470 frames and deconvolution.

Seeing: 2/5. Transparency: 2/5.
