I took the time to compare two Orion telescopes in the image above. The new scope is an Orion ED 80T CF APO, a triple lens with carbon fiber body, and Crayford focuser, Piggyback on a Meade LX200 8" GPS. This produced the larger part of the Veil image. AT f/6.0 with a WO FF/FR x0.8 produces a f/4.8.
Camera, Canon 40D Hutech Mod with a light pollution filter insert, 39x240sec @ iso800 processed with ImagePlus 3.75 and PhotoShop CS5. On 9-14-10.
The second part of the image is the FOV from a Orion ED 80 Piggyback on the same Meade, 8-31-08.
Same camera with clear filter insert.
All the essentials are the in the image, Veil West(Ngc6960) star 52Cyg (The Witches Broom), Veil East (NGC6992/6995) and the Pickering,Fleming. triangular wisp (NGC 6979). The west and east Veils are seperated by about 2 1/2 degrees.
The Orion ED80T CF provides a wide field, and allows the chance to image beautiful vistas.
