The Eagle Nebula (catalogued as M16) is a young open cluster of star in Serpens. The most famous and probably interesting features in this nebula, are the pillars of star-forming gas and dust within the Nebula (aka "The Pillars of Creation" after the famous HST photo).
I acquired the data for this image in 6 nights (18,19,20,21,22 and 23 August 2009) at Muxagata, Portugal (MPC J15) for a total of 636 minutes of exposure time. Another low altitude DSO at my Latitude (41ºN). Data were processed in the Hubble palette (SII as R; Ha as G; OIII as B)
