The Blue Snowball (NGC 7662)

Morristown, NJ. 9/23-9/24/09. This is an image of The Blue Snowball Nebula, a planetary nebula in the constellation Andromeda. Long exposures using an OIII filter brought out detail within the rarely imaged outer halo. Taken with a QSI 540 wsg through a Meade 10" LX200R at f/10. It was captured using a combination of 1 minute luminance, 5 minute RGB and 15 minute OIII subexposures using Astrodon filters. Total exposure time of seven hours. Guided with SX Lodestar camera.
