The image was taken on October 28, 2008 near Ransom, Illinois. The scope is an Orion ED80 guided with an SBIG ST-4. The image was built from six 10-minute exposures on a Hap Griffin modified Canon 350XT camera. Processing was done using Images Plus and Photoshop CS3.
