I want to tell you about a terrific new song from a couple of friends I made at last year’s Starmus Festival. “Rainbow of Light (Anthem)” by Linda Lamon, and performed by the great soprano Katerina Mina, is a celebration of the universe.

It is now available on iTunes.

All of us who attended Starmus last year were treated when Katerina performed, and you will adore this song once you hear it.

You can watch the video on Youtube.

A press release follows.

Katerina Mina will be bringing a little light into the world as we celebrate the Winter Solstice.

As the nights start to get lighter on December 22nd, the London based international soprano's new single Rainbow of Light (anthem), by UK (Manchester) composer Linda Lamon, will be released and available as a download from iTunes and digital.

A former classical version of Linda's song, also recorded by Greek Cypriot Katerina, has been supporting UNESCO's International Year of Light during 2015 and has played at events in countries worldwide, including Russia, Brazil, Canada, USA, Portugal, Spain, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, India, UK, Poland, and Hungary.

Now the new anthem, produced by Nigel Stonier and recorded at Airtight Studios in Manchester, is promising to bring some sparkle and magic for the lead-up to the festive season and into the new year.

Linda was inspired to write the uplifting ballad, all about the universe and humanity’s place within it, after attending the international science and arts festival STARMUS, where the Mancunian met London-based Katerina who was performing at the closing ceremony with composer Alexandros Hahalis and Rick Wakeman.

"I was introduced to the event by Dr. Brian May who I had met through writing a couple of songs for his Save Me charity.  I was basically blown away listening to dozens of speakers such as Professor Stephen Hawking, Richard Dawkins, astronaut Charlie Duke (who walked on the moon) and Nobel prize winner Robert Wilson." Linda said.

"I wanted to share my experience (that actually changed my life forever) in a simple way, and it came out in song."

Brian May, who is best known as the guitarist with the rock band Queen, supported Linda and Katerina with the earlier version of Rainbow of Light, sharing it on all his social media sites.

"Brian is behind this anthem version too as it is close to his heart.  He is a joint founder of Starmus and an astrophysicist, so he understands the message we are trying to get across." Linda added.

And the message is?

"There is so much still that we do not know about our universe — where we are from and where we are going. There are many scientists who believe the answer could be in the light we see in the rainbow, and Linda brings this out in the lyrics" Katerina explained.

Rainbow of Light is currently in a semi-finalist position in the United Kingdom International Song contest. (Results for finalists in early December).

Rainbow of Light (Anthem) and video will be featured at the International of Light closing ceremony in Mexico on February 2, 2016.

Rainbow of Light (Anthem) will be out as an MP3 download on December 22 from digital stores and can be pre-ordered.

A video is also being released on iTunes, Vemo, and Youtube.
